John Y. Brown IV has been involved in politics since age one, when he travelled the state with his father during his 1995 run for Secretary of State of Kentucky and was even featured in one of his political ads.
Today, John, or Johnny as he is typically called, is a high school senior at Kentucky Country Day in Louisville, Kentucky. Johnny played tennis both Freshman and Sophomore year and basketball sophomore year.
Johnny enjoys all things political. Going back to 2007, he had the privilege of traveling the state with his father who was campaigning as the Lt. Governor candidate with Speaker of the House Jody Richards. He has also participated in programs such as the KYA (Kentucky Youth Assembly) in Frankfort and the NYLC (National Youth Leadership Conference) in Washington D.C. as well as being a legislative page for State rep. Robin Webb (D).
Johnny comes from a rich tradition of politics with his great grandfather, John Y Brown Sr, serving a term in the US Congress and as the speaker of the state House of Representatives, his grandfather serving as a one term governor of Kentucky, and his father serving as a two term Secretary of State.
He will have the honor of attending Centre College this fall as a college freshman. He hopes to pursue a career in politics.
