Abigail “Abby” Miller has been involved in the political system since she was 6 months old, and her father ran for Congress. She starred in her first television commerical before she turned 1. By the time she was five, she had a non-speaking extra role in TV commericals for Kentucky’s Affordable Prepaid Tuition (KAPT), and was the second child enrolled in the program. (Her big sister, Emily, was first.)
Today, Abby is a freshman at Lafayette High School’s School for the Creative and Performing Arts. Her major is in creative writing, and she is also enrolled in the Pre-Engineering program. She earned a letter on Lafayette’s Varsity Swimming team, for which she was named Most Improved Swimmer, and she also plays on the Varsity Tennis team. She is a member of Young Democrats, Beta Club, Key Club.
Abby is very active in the Jewish community, and she has attended Goldman Union Camp Institute for four years, is a regular participant in the North American Federation of Temple Youth Ohio Valley (NFTY/OV), and plans to travel to Israel with NFTY in the summer of 2012.
Abby is a published writer, a contributor to Girls Rock: Just the Way We Are, and she was the winner of the Young Appalachian Poetry Award in 2009. She currently has written four pieces of fiction for the Laurel, a student publication.
